A leading healthcare organization in Central California is seeking an experienced Assistant Nurse Manager to support a highly specialized Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU).
Responsibilities
- Assist with the coordination and oversight of daily NICU operations
- Support patient care delivery and ensure adherence to clinical standards and best practices
- Mentor and develop nursing staff through coaching, education, and performance support
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and team-oriented work environment
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve patient outcomes and operational efficiency
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives and departmental leadership activities
- Help manage staffing, workflow, and patient care coordination within the unit
- Support employee engagement and professional development efforts
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Master's Degree in Nursing (BSN or MSN) required
- Current and active California Registered Nurse (RN) license required
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association required
- Neonatal Intensive Care Nurse Certification (RNC-NIC) required within 6 months of hire or transfer
- Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required within 90 days of hire or transfer
- Minimum of 2 years of NICU or related nursing experience
- Previous leadership or management experience required
