StaffQuest is seeking a Technical Building Consultant to work with their client, a leading firm specializing in building and infrastructure solutions. They are dedicated to delivering innovative and sustainable consulting services to enhance the functionality, efficiency, and safety of buildings.
In this role you will be responsible for providing expert advice on the design, construction, and maintenance of buildings. You will work closely with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that building projects meet technical, regulatory, and sustainability standards. Your expertise will be pivotal in optimizing building performance and ensuring successful project outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Client Consultation: Engage with clients to understand their building requirements, objectives, and challenges. Provide expert guidance on technical aspects of building design and construction.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct thorough assessments of building systems and infrastructure. Analyze technical requirements, and provide recommendations for improvements or solutions to address issues.
- Design and Planning: Collaborate with design and engineering teams to develop technical specifications and plans. Ensure that designs comply with building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
- Project Oversight: Monitor and manage building projects from inception through to completion. Oversee construction activities, review progress, and ensure that technical aspects align with project goals and client expectations.
- Compliance and Quality Assurance: Ensure that building projects adhere to relevant building codes, standards, and regulations. Conduct inspections and audits to verify compliance and quality.
- Problem Solving: Identify and resolve technical issues that arise during the design, construction, and maintenance phases. Provide practical solutions and recommendations to address challenges effectively.
- Documentation: Prepare and maintain detailed documentation, including technical reports, project plans, and compliance records. Ensure that all documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
- Sustainability and Innovation: Advocate for sustainable building practices and innovative technologies. Recommend solutions that enhance energy efficiency, environmental performance, and overall building quality.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Building Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related field. Professional certifications or advanced degrees are advantageous.
- Proven experience as a Building Consultant or in a similar role, with a strong understanding of building systems, construction practices, and regulatory requirements.
- In-depth knowledge of building codes, standards, and industry best practices.
- Strong project management skills, with experience overseeing building projects and ensuring compliance with technical requirements.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, contractors, and other stakeholders.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
- Familiarity with the Ontario building market and regulations is preferred.
