The Senior Accountant will be responsible for overseeing the company's accounting operations, ensuring accuracy and compliance with financial regulations. This role involves preparing financial statements, conducting audits, managing accounts, and supporting financial planning and analysis. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review financial statements, ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and IFRS.
  • Conduct regular financial audits and reconciliations.
  • Manage accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely and accurate processing.
  • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and financial reports.
  • Monitor and manage cash flow, ensuring adequate liquidity for operations.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, provincial, and local financial regulations and tax laws.
  • Provide support for internal and external audits.
  • Implement and maintain financial controls and procedures.
  • Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and efficiency.
  • Supervise and mentor junior accounting staff.
  • Stay updated on changes in accounting standards and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA designation required.
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in accounting or a similar role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and IFRS.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience with financial reporting, budgeting, and analysis.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
