Job Summary:

The Business Development Manager - Inside Sales will be responsible for managing and executing the company’s inside sales strategies within the construction industry. This role focuses on identifying new business opportunities, following up on leads, maintaining client relationships, and converting prospects into long-term partnerships. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction sales, excellent communication skills, and a proactive approach to driving business growth.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Generation: Identify and qualify potential clients through research, networking, and inbound inquiries.
  • Inside Sales: Conduct sales calls, virtual meetings, and follow-up communications to engage prospects and convert leads into business opportunities.
  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with clients through regular communication, understanding their needs, and providing tailored solutions.
  • Follow-Up: Ensure consistent follow-up with potential clients to maintain engagement and move prospects through the sales funnel.
  • Proposal Preparation: Collaborate with the estimating and project management teams to prepare and present proposals that meet client needs and secure new contracts.
  • Sales Pipeline Management: Manage and track all sales activities, leads, and opportunities in the CRM system, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records.
  • Market Research: Conduct market research to identify trends, opportunities, and competitive activities, and provide insights for strategic decision-making.
  • Reporting: Prepare and present regular sales reports, forecasts, and updates to senior management.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with the marketing team to develop and execute targeted campaigns that generate leads and support sales efforts.
  • Customer Service: Provide exceptional customer service to clients, addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring client satisfaction.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing (related education or equivalent experience will also be considered)
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in inside sales, business development, or related roles within the construction industry.
  • Proven experience in managing and closing sales opportunities through inside sales channels.
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple client relationships and follow up on leads effectively.
  • Proficiency in CRM software and sales tools.
  • High level of organization, attention to detail, and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently.
  • Understanding of the construction industry and its sales dynamics.
