Position Overview

An opportunity is available for a General Surgeon to provide clinical leadership and support the delivery of high-quality surgical and outpatient care in a multidisciplinary clinical setting. This physician will collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to oversee care standards, improve patient outcomes, and contribute to the clinic's operational and strategic planning. The ideal candidate combines strong surgical expertise with leadership, communication, and quality improvement skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical leadership and help coordinate the clinic's medical services and daily operations.
• Partner with clinic administration to plan service offerings, clinical resources, equipment needs, and facility workflows.
• Establish, maintain, and improve patient care standards, protocols, and clinical procedures.
• Work collaboratively with physicians and other healthcare professionals to monitor clinical outcomes and improve quality of care.
• Identify and address medical staff concerns while promoting effective professional relationships across departments.
• Support physician engagement, referral development, outreach, and marketing initiatives.
• Contribute to annual operating plans, long-term strategic planning, and departmental business development.
• Assist with financial planning, budget oversight, reporting, and internal control processes.
• Participate in the development, review, and implementation of clinical and departmental policies.
• Take part in committees, quality assurance initiatives, and interdisciplinary projects.
• Communicate clinical priorities and operational concerns to appropriate medical and administrative leaders.
• Maintain technical competencies consistent with professional credentials and authorized clinical privileges.

Required Qualifications

• Current medical license valid in Alabama.
• Successful completion of the employer's medical staff credentialing and privileging process.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate clearly and respond appropriately in emergency situations.
• Surgical skills and clinical competencies appropriate to the role and granted privileges.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience providing clinical leadership in a surgical practice, outpatient clinic, or multidisciplinary healthcare setting.
• Familiarity with clinical quality assurance, patient safety, and outcome measurement.
• Experience participating in operational planning, budget management, or departmental business development.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with physicians, administrators, and other healthcare professionals.
