Job description
A well-established California-based law firm is seeking an experienced attorney with 7+ years of litigation experience to join its Trial & Litigation team with a focus on eminent domain matters.
Responsibilities
- Manage eminent domain and related litigation matters from inception through resolution
- Handle all phases of litigation including pleadings, discovery, motion practice, trial preparation, and appeals
- Draft and argue substantive and dispositive motions
- Build trial strategy through fact development and legal analysis
- Interview witnesses and prepare evidentiary support
- Take and defend depositions
- Collaborate with attorneys and legal teams on litigation strategy and case management
- Provide legal counsel on land acquisition and real property matters involving public infrastructure projects
- Participate in bench and jury trials as needed
Requirements
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school
- Active California Bar membership in good standing
- 7+ years of litigation experience
- Strong experience with law and motion practice, including dispositive motions
- Demonstrated experience preparing matters for trial
- Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
